Types of ship waste accepted at port reception facilities
ZMPSiŚS.A. as part of the existing system for the collection of waste from ships in the seaport of Szczecin and the seaport of Świnoujście, it ensures that ships receive the declared waste generated during ship operation or loading and unloading as well as cleaning and which falls within the scope of application of Annexes I, II, IV, V and VI to the MARPOL Convention , including cargo residues, as well as other waste not included in the Marpol Convention, such as passively caught waste. Waste generated by ships is classified in accordance with the taxonomy provided for in the International Convention, i.e. MARPOL Convention for the Prevention of Marine Pollution from Ships, 1973, done at London on November 2, 1973, together with Annexes I, II, III, IV, and V, as amended by the Protocol done at London on February 17, 1978. together with Annex I (Journal of Laws of 1987, item 101, as amended) and the Protocol adopted in London on September 26, 1997. (Journal of Laws of 2005, items 1679 and 1680) as well as in accordance with Polish law on the basis of the Waste Catalog, by waste recipients and accepted at port reception facilities.
